I have a file with GL information that I am linking to the chart of accounts using power pivot.
I like the example given on using a pivot table for an income statement by using a calculated field (revenue - expense for example). Is there a way to do this using Power Pivot with joined tables?

Probably yes, but it would be more helpful if you posted in a file a sample (10-15 records) and then mock up what you want the results to look like. Then we can give you specific DAX for your particular issue.

See if the attached filed contains a working solution for you. You'll need some DAX measures and play around a bit with the format of the pt to get the lay-out you want.
