HI, this may be east for some, I am in need of a formula that will check and compare three sheets (same workbook) the following:
Sheet1 has a level, classification, year and rate.
Sheet2 has a level, classification and rate
Sheet3 has level, years and rate (in a table appearance) A=level, B is year and rate, C is year and rate and D is year and rate. Basically 2023,2024, 2025
I need to check and match (true or false) the data on sheet1 against sheets 2,3. If false from rate on sheet3 then pull rate from sheet2 based on level and classification.

It is not clear to me what it is you want and where you want it, also it is not stated what Excel version you work with. It differs between the versions what functions are availabe.

... to check and match (true or false) the data on sheet1 against sheets 2,3. If false from rate on sheet3 then pull rate from sheet2 based on level and classification.
Where do you want to have this TRUE/FALSE statements and do you want to know if it is a match from 3rd or 2nd sheet? Is there a possibility you get a FALSE on both checks, what then?
Also, the data in the 3rd sheet (Approved) is in a semi report layout, looks good but makes it a bit more troublesome to work with. Can you consider using a tabular data format?
Attached file contains some examples using SUMPRODUCT only, should work regardless of Excel version. Hopefully this gets you forward to a final solution that suits your need.
