We are trying to avoid buying a very costly time punch clock system at work, that tracks piecework and hours worked. So we are trying to write our own spreadsheet.

I have column I cell 5 highlighted, because it's not calculating right and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I have time in and time out columns and the difference. Giving me the number of hours doing that job. I have that calculating correctly.

I need to calculate # of pounds by $ rate per pound to equal Total $ for that job. in cell H5 I have the formula =F5*G5.  That calculates correctly.

In cell I5 I need to calculate $25 divided by 6 hours but I keep getting $100 instead of $4.17.  What am I doing wrong?

6 hours = 1/4 of a day (Excel stores times as fractions of 1 day) and if you divide 25 by 1/4 you get 100, so I'd guess that's the source of your problem. Multiply the time value by 24 and you should get the correct answer.
