Dear Mynda,

I have the attached spreadsheet with my project's budget inserted.

I have 03 projects, and under different contracts, we have the same team and tasks.

I want to create a dependent dropdown list in the "Payment" sheet, so when I have an invoice, I can populate the details there. But I wanted in the dropdown to show what is for the specific project, contract, and so on.

I watched so many videos, but I can't seem to find a formula will work. I have set up as a table, so when I add new rows, the dropdown will be added to the new row.

I am lost, and I don't know what else to do.
I hope you can give me a solution.

Kind Regards,

Fernanda

Hi Fernanda,

You haven't said what version of Excel you have. If you have Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 you can use this technique:

https://www.myonlinetraininghub.com/dynamic-dependent-data-validation

And if you have Excel 2019 or earlier, you can use this technique:

If you get stuck, please come back with your file showing your attempt so I can help you troubleshoot where you've gone wrong.

Hi Mynda,

Thank you so much! That was amazing!

It worked perfectly until I get where I have the same name range for two options. Can I use XLOOKUP with AND? So I can select more options to lookup for.

Kind Regards,

Fernanda
