Power Query
February 16, 2018
Hi
I often look at the article on GETPIVOTDATA Function for Power Pivot to remind me how to insert dynamic references. However, today it is not working for me.
I have a pivot table with dates in the columns. On screen I see "Jul 18". In the formula bar I see "1.07.18". And in the GETPIVOTDATA formula I see "2018-07-01T00:00:00". So I suspect it has something to do with the format.
In the query editor the date is the type Date. In the data manager it is the type Date and the format March 2001.
Do you have any ideas how to get these dates to work as dynamic references?
Thanks for your help

Hi Mardi,
Are you using a date table for your PivotTable date fields? When you use a date table you set it as such and mark the date field. In the latest versions of Excel (2019 and 365) dates are automatically grouped into month, quarter and years when you add them to a PivotTable, so it sounds like you might be using an old version of Excel.
Do you have a sample file you can share?
