On a windows laptop, in both Google Sheets and Excel, if you press the "F2" hotkey on a cell that contains a formula, you enter that cell and can edit the formula. However, Google Sheets has (in my opinion) an incredibly helpful additional feature, where if that formula references another cell (either on the same sheet or on a different worksheet), and you move your I-beam cursor over that cell reference and click the "F2" hotkey again, you jump to that specific cell reference. Then, if you click the cancel button, you jump back to your original cell and leave the edit mode.
When working with a lot of data that references different cells and sheets, I find this navigation hotkey allows me to see how the formula works with other data incredibly quickly. For some reason, this feature doesn't exist in Excel (or at least I haven't figured out a way to do it), and would really appreciate if anyone has been able to get this to work.
Thanks so much in advance.

Hi Adam,
In excel, you have tools in Formula Auditing group from Formulas tab in ribbon.
Trace precedents and Trace Dependents will give you tools to navigate to the cells referenced in that cell formula.

Hello,
The closest you get (as far as I know) is to use CTRL + [ to go to precedent cell or CTRL + ] for dependent cell.
The shortcuts are for those using English keyboard, for me with Swedish keyboard I have only found out the CTRL + SHIFT + 8 to go to precedent cell, haven't found out the combination for dependent cell, so I use F5 and then double click a row from the list.
A link to an external page where you can read more about Excel shortcuts.
