Hi
I have data of expenses (over 7000 rows), the columns are :-
DATE (DD/MMM/YY) - DESCRIPTION - AMOUNT
I'd like to filter this data by MMM YY and sum AMOUNT in a new sheet
Is this possible with the FILTER function? Or, is there a better function
I'll be very grateful for any advice

Hi,
My first idea I would suggest a helper column but
If you're using Excel 365 or 2021 you can use embedded filter functions oer even sumifs functions

I would suggest that you create pivot table. The attached file contains a small scale example, but it would work just as good on 7000 rows of data.
