Adding % Change Green/Red Arrows with conditional formatting to a pivot bar chart from a pivot table

Hi!

My first post here. I have found this hub to be very informative! I watched quite a few myonlinetraining hub youtube videos and have found them very helpful. I was able to add the % change to my current pivot table. My question now is how do I show the % change with color markers to a pivot bar chart? I figured out how to add the % change, but I would like to add the green/red arrows to show the trend. Thank you!

Hi Adam,

Glad you've found our site helpful!

Unfortunately, you can't add conditional formatting arrows to a Pivot Chart. Here's an example of a chart that uses triangles: Excel Custom Chart Labels

Hope that gives you some ideas. Come back if you get stuck.

Thank you for the reply, Mynda! I was afraid of that...I will see what I can do without using a pivot table. I have a lot of data that needs grouping etc. Thank you!

Not too sure if a custom number format using “▲”; “▼”; will work on the chart labels (values) in your situation.
