Hi,

Typically in construction projects, a general contractor manages various subcontractors who carry out tradeworks. They then oversee and take responsibility for these works. The general contractor applies oncosts including preliminaries and margin on top of the tradeworks. The percentage of preliminaries and margin can have a large influence on total project cost.

Is it possible to use Power Query to carry out calculations which require to reference subtotals elsewhere in a construction estimate? I have included an Excel file showing what I mean.

Thank you

Tom

Try this on for size, and see how it works for you. 🙂

Thank you Jessica. This is very clever and let's me run a lot of scenarios with a big error-prone spreadsheet.
