I received a set of financial statements in Swedish and I need to translate them into English. Since these will be statements I receive regularly, I want to use Power Query to clean up the PDF files and translate the account names into English. I saw a video on YouTube showing how to use Google API, but it didn't quite work for me since it was translating a sheet already in Excel.
I have already loaded and cleaned up the financial statements in Power Query. How can I add a column that will translate the Swedish? Do I have to load it to a sheet and then create another query that will translate the one column and then load to a new sheet?

Hi Amanda,
I'd probably try and do the translation before loading to Power Query and cleaning the data as it's best not to modify the query output table.
As for how to do the translation, I'm not familiar with the Google API and how you might use that in Excel.
Another option is to create a table containing a mapping of the account names in Swedish to English and then use that in Power Query to do a lookup to return the English names into the financial statement query, then you can delete the Swedish names. This assumes the account names are known beforehand and can be maintained in a lookup table.
