I have created a measure in power pivot and when applied to pivot table, the measure shows twice.  I will explain my problem below:

I have created the following table:

Column 1 contains Ledger accounts

Column 2 contains Month as date format

Column 3 contains value

The above table contains data for two years i.e. for 24 months.

I wanted to create a variance table i.e. variance between months like expenses in april 20 and april 21 and the variance between them.  I created 3 measures - 1. for calculating the value for april 20, 2. for value of april 21 and 3. diff between apr 20 and apr 21.  The numbers came correct.

I created a pivot table to show april 20 figures in one column, apr 21 figures in 2nd column and the variance (measure) in another column.  But the measure shows twice under apr 20 as well as apr 21.

Where could I have gone wrong?  Pls help.
