Hello friends, Hope all is safe & Well!
Finally, getting a new computer, and want your kind recommendations for heavy lifting. Meaning what are PC Specs I should look for?
Dealing with large sets of data, and rely a lot on:
1. Power Pivot Tables
2. Power Query
Your kind feedback is needed and really appreciated!

Hi Nawaf,
PC specs are only part of the story. Performance in PP and PQ will be affected by things like:
- A poorly designed data model
- Writing your own SQL queries against a database (breaking query folding)
- Non-optimised transformations
- ......
If I was buying a PC I'd be getting:
- As much RAM as possible - minimum 16GB
- As much hard disk space as possible and preferably Solid State Drives - disks are very cheap although SSD's are more expensive.
- Fastest CPU you can afford
- Windows 10 64-bit, Office 64-bit
I'm currently running Windows 10, 64 bit Office, 16GB RAM, Intel i5-4590 3.3GHz and don't have any issues.
Regards
Phil
