All,

I was reading this page. The page has several 'graphs' that are rows of dots. i.e. House of Representatives. I'm not sure it actually is called a graph. but I was wondering how we could replicate it in Excel.

I was thinking the values (table) for total woman, democrats, republicans could be dynamic, thus the graph could change as our values changes.

Could Excel even create the total number of seats i.e. 535?

Thanks

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Those are waffle charts. You can replicate them in Excel using conditional formatting in cells. I haven't written about them yet (it's now on my to-do list), but PolicyViz.com has this tutorial.

UPDATE: here's a step by step tutorial on how to build Waffle Charts in Excel.

Thanks managed to replicate the waffle for my needs.

Also found a dot graph, yet the waffle was easier to replicate.
