Hi,

I'm running Excel 2019 on a PC.

I've followed the steps for looking up pictures in Excel based on a cell value given on your YouTube video (link below).

At 6:24 you instruct to link the image to the named formula. I've named that list the same as in your video, profile_slicer but all I'm getting is Reference isn't valid. I get the same trying the Data Validation List method and even following another You Tube instruction video by someone else.

The file is attached, although I've had to crop the last dozen photos from it to fit it within your 8MB file size limit.

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks. I had a lot of trouble trying to upload my original file as it was too big. I removed several of the photos from it and shrunk it to under 7MB but it still wouldn't go.

For simplicities sake, I created the attached file that has only 5 simple flag images. Using the slicer method in the video linked above, I'm still getting Reference isn't valid when I try to link the flag image on tab 1 to the named formula, flag_slicer  🙁

Hello,

I followed the written instructions about the same.
https://www.myonlinetraininghu.....s-in-excel

The error you made is that you named the pictures and not the cells where the pictures are, step 2.
When you name the cells you automatically creates new names in the Name Manager.

In attached file I have renamed the pictures and instead named the cells. Now it works fine to add the named formula. The outline you see around the flag is due to the cell size per each flag picture. I oversized column A to give you an example.

Br,
Anders

Ha, I knew it would be some simple silly mistake I'd made.

Gold, love your work.

Thanks very much. Smile
