Hi
Would like advice where to locate info about using a PN532 RFID reader (earlier readers were called RC522) which has various communication available, I2C, SPI and HSU (High-Speed UART). Would like RTD to go direct into Excel 2016 spreadsheet with focus, for later manipulation of data.
Read a 10 digit Alpha/numeric string at max of 2 or 3 per second, with long intervals (10 mins) until next set of tag reads.

Is there in Excel 2016, suitable (including VBA), app or add-in, to achieve above. Prefer not to include a microcontroller (Arduino), between PN532 board and PC, and which form of communication (in Excel 2016 already) to PC does work the best/simplest, for Excel 2016 to retrieve. I2C, SPI or HSU.
Thankyou

Hello Charlie,
My experience with using barcode and RFID scanners with Excel has not shown any problems other than that you sometimes need to define the cells you are scanning to to be formatted as text. Is it any special issue you are thinking of or is perhaps experiencing?

Hi Charlie,
If the manufacturer doesn't provide a means for you to get the device data into Excel then I'm not sure how you would do it.
Microsoft have produced an add-in that is supposed to get RTD into Excel but from the examples I've seen, they use Arduino as an interface
