HI, could use help in creating a formula to update our financial statements every month. What formula could I use to select a different column from the linked tabs when reporting a new month?

Our Income Statement in Excel shows prior year, current year and budget by both current month and year-to-date. My issue is updating the link every month on P&L YTD to the data in the other tabs. Every month I change the formula to select a different column. I December the formula pulls data from column E, then for January I change the formula to select data from column F. I solved the YTD budget by using a formula to multiply by the month number in cell A3, as our budget is the same every month.

The reason for the complexity and the separate tabs is because our software only produces a trial balance with year-to-date amounts. So, to calculate current month I subtract last months YTD numbers from the current YTD total.
