Is there a way to secure a dashboard for multiple users?

So I created a dashboard on a teams site & there are multiple users that have access.  I figured out how to allow the slicers to work, but I also have a macro to refresh the data.  So I tried to put a password protect on the page but can’t get the macro to work.  I unfortunately cannot send the file since i work in a hospital and there is patient information in the dashboard.  The doctors are great at delivering healthcare but horrible with excel! Hahahahha

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Heather,

Welcome to our forum!

If you're using Excel embedded in Teams then you're effectively using Excel Online and you cannot execute macros/VBA in Excel Online.

We go to the Teams site and then when the excel document is open we have them "Open in Desktop app"  the macro works then.

We just don't know how to make the data & elements in the dashboard secure so the other people that are looking at it cannot make changes to the formatting or data by accident.

Ah, ok. In that case Teams has no bearing on the file's functionality since you're using it in Excel Desktop. Please see this tutorial on workbook protection. You may need to factor unprotecting and reprotecting into your macro in order for it to run, depending on what it's doing.

Let me know if you're still stuck.
