Greetings house,

Please I have this problem. I am using excel 2019. Before now, everything is fine. but recently, I noticed that when I click the right click option (see attached image), some unwanted items have been added to the list. Please house, how do I remove some of these items which I do not want and also prevent them from getting added automatically?

Thanks

Vic Man

Hello,

No picture. Not sure what context menu options you want to get rid off, perhaps this guide can give some help.

Anders

Hello,

I don't have Office 2019 so thus don't have the new context menu options as shown in your picture. Did you check the guide I linked to in my previous post?

Anders

I'll ask Microsoft, but I suspect you can't turn this off. I'll let you know what they say.

I have Excel 2019 and don't have this issue. Is your copy a trial version?

If you start Excel in safe mode - hold the Ctrl key while starting Excel and answer yes to the prompt - do you still see those items? If not, it's due to an add-in or startup file you have loaded.

Hello All,

Thanks for all of your responses.

@Anders Sehlstedt, Yes I did but still could not work my way around it.

@Mynda Treacy, I look forward to getting that information from Microsoft

@SunnyKow, My copy is not a trial version. It is paid version.

@Velouria, What I did was to uninstall excel and re-install and the default context menu came back but if this problem occurs again, I will try this. I already uninstalled excel before I got your responses to I couldn't try it out.

I have a macro inbuilt in my file which works perfectly okay. It turns out that over time, as I continued with the file, those additional list gets added automatically. I don't know why. The first thing that got added to the default context menu list was the search box at the top of the attached image. Then before you know it, the try list which comprises of the colors filter automatically got added.

I have surfed the internet to know how to resolve this but all to no avail. Meanwhile like I stated, I have re-installed and it is okay for now. But one still need to understand why this is happening for posterity purposes.

Thanks all. I really appreciate.

Vic Man
