Dear, I am checking the practical use of Excel track changes feature. I wonder if it is a good tool to use for forecast update. So end user will update forecast inputs, then finance and planning team accept and reject changes so that finance and planning team is aware of what the changes are. But I am not sure if it is a good tool to use considering the number of changes... I know you can lock the turn off changes function so all changes will be kept but can I define who can accept or reject changes? So end user cannot accept changes they made?
I am also checking the option to use SharePoint list.
Do you have any suggestions on forecast update tool that is providing good track changes?
Thanks!

Thank you for your kind reply! But I think the old school shared document has the function 'accept/reject changes' which is very useful if you work with colleagues from different departments. Also the separate sheet listing all the changes is also very structured.
What I wonder is if I can only allow certain people accept or reject changes...
Hope someone can help me out!

Hello,
Using shared workbooks works even though it does limit what you do in the file. Here is a link to a Microsoft support page describing what you can do with shared workbooks. There are no built in functionality to set a user to be the only person to administrate the changes, everyone having edit rights to the file have the possibilty to accept or reject the changes.
