Hi,

I having a problem matching two conditions with conditional formatting.

I want to check if the date is matching with the holiday list. A9:A12 – First condition.

Also I want to match the cell content in AF2 with the range B9:B12 – Second condition.

If both of them matches I want that particular date highlighted in the table. I have attached the file.

Please excuse me for my English.

Thank you and Have a good day.

Hi Mark, welcome on Mynda's Forum!

See if the attached is what you want. I did the conditional formatting on the above part of the sheet. I made a validation list in AF2 to see if it works with your different kind of dates in the second condition. I think this works rather good, but maybe somebody else here can offer you a nicer solution.

Hi Frans

Thank you for your reply. I'm a little bit confused about the way how it works. I was hoping this can be done using one formula. I really don't get the point why you have used different cell ranges.

I did that because you wanted two criteria to be checked and these criteria are different and have different comparisons.

Your first one is the date which has to be checked with the heading of the column.

The second one is a text which you want to compare with a text in another cell.

I put them together with the ´and´ because you only want to highlight things which equals both conditions.

So more clear?

Hello,

I think what Mark wonders is why there were more than one condition rule set. I have modified your file a bit Frans, kept the first rule and modified the range, removed the others. The functionality is still the same.

Anders
