Question...
this is related to POWER QUERY, and not exactly a Power BI problem, but I'm hoping I can get a solution from the members here
Summary of the problem - how can I have a PowerQuery automatically refreshed without explicitly opening the file and clicking refresh all
Background - I have already setup a PQ system where it captures regular monthly reports, Jan to Apr... the related monthly report is placed in a specific folder (SharePoint online) by the 20th of the month.
In another folder (also SPO), I have an XL file which contains a PQ script, which I will open and refresh data and it updates the file contents (has formula, mapping, M code, etc etc) with the latest information, so it's all done.
My only engagement is to manually open the XL file with the PowerQuery by 20th end of day or the follow day, 21st, and hit refresh. That's it.
There's another set of activities which are done based on refreshed file (which now contains MAY data) all processed through Power Automate / MS Flow.
So.. question - how do I refresh the PQ file? My end objective is that... I want my PQ file to contain the MAY data without me explcitly opening and refreshing it.
Pls be aware, all the files - source data, PQ file and etc are hosted in SP online. There is no security access concerns.
Hope to hear from you guys.
Take care,

Hi Cherian,
If the file was on your computer, you could use visual basic to schedule a code to run on a specific date, but if the file is not on your computer, I don't see other options unfortunately, the only way to update is to open the file, because you mentioned that you have also formulas that need updating, not just M queries.
