Good aftenoon Mynda,

I am working on my dashboard for control my home expenses.  I attach the document

After making a lot changes in expenses/categories/description, I removed incomes because it was a problem dealing with other variable (expenses+incomes), then I "did" my simple dashboard (I want to start with this and improving it) but I have several questions:

1. Why in my year slicer I see all years toguether I will like to see each year in each button like you did in your Dashboard video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K74_FNnlIF8&t=469s. More or less with the months

2. Why if I select months or years with the slicers not all the charts change. It´s only changing in one of three charts

3. I use always bar or colums charts because I fell confortable but I Know other charts will be better

4.I would like to see different expenses showing the years variation (electicity 2018-2019-2020 maibe not all the years), but if I create a charts I have too many lines or colums

5. At the end I will add other chart with the place where I spend more money: Amazon, Tesco, gas station, etc, but that will be in the future

Thanks a lot for your help and for your videos

Kind regards from Galicia, Spain

Hi Amaro,

It's great to see you're having a go at building your own dashboards. Please see answers your questions below:

1. You have inserted a timeline slicer. Delete it and insert a regular Slicer for the Anos field.

2. You need to connect the Slicer to the other PivotTables. Right-click the Slicer > Report Connections.

3. Line charts are also good for plotting data over time. You would need the dates on the horizontal axis for a line chart.

4. Not sure what the question is here.

5. ok.

I hope that points you in the right direction.

Mynda
