Hello,

I am new here in this forum and would like to get some help. In one of the webinars published on youtube The author was substracting the shipping date from the order date to get to the delivery date. when I first upload my data, the dates in Power Query would look as in Pic No.1 attached. when I change the type of data from text to Date and try to add a column to get the subtraction it gives me too many errors. what is wrong exactly ?

thank you .

Hi Bilal,

This will be a locale issue. My dates are formatted dd/mm/yyyy and I suspect yours are mm/dd/yyyy. You need to go into Power Query and remove the first 'Changed Type' step. Then right-click the date columns one at a time, select Change Type > Using Locale. In the drop downs choose 'Date' and 'English (Australia)'.
