Hi John,
I can't save my newly created pivot chart as a template. I use Excel 2013 and can't find the "Save As Template" option in the chart type group of the Design Tab ribbon. I have look at adding to the ribbon but cannot find this option listed in the "All Commands" pop down list (File - Options - Customize Ribbon - All Commands). I have clicked on the chart with the RH mouse button to reveal a pop down menu that allows me to save the chart as a template (which I did), but then when I try to apply that template by clicking on the chart with the RH mouse button to reveal a pop down menu and choose "Change Chart Type", I get an error (click on "Templates" in the pop down menu) that states "This template can't be used ... ". I then click on the "Manage Templates" button at the LH bottom of this pop down menu and it shows the template as a ".crtx" file. Can you help with this query please?
Thanks,
Hans
Hello Hans,
In Excel 2013 & 2016 you need to Right Click on the chart and select Save as a Template.
Please refer to video lecture to see the steps:
9.7 | Saving a Pivot Chart template |
I also have a walk through tutorial which you can view here: http://myexcelonline.com/blog/save-chart-template-excel/
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks,
John
