Hello all,

Some of my coworkers (not all) are getting an error message 'TypeError: Unable to get property 'getVersion' of undefined or null reference' on the dashboards I created.

I do not see this error in my system. I checked with workbook analysis and none of the dashboard has any errors.

Is it something to do with the Power Query Version?

Thank you in advance.download-1.png

Hi Ram,

This looks like an error in a JavaScript library loaded from Microsoft.

Where is your document/dashboard?  On a PC, online?

Is this happening in PQ in Excel or in a Power BI report?

Where are your colleagues located (geographically) that are having this issue?  Are they in the same office as you?

Regards

Phil

The dashboards are located in a shared drive.

It is PQ in Excel.

Some of my colleagues are in the same office and others are in a different building.

How do I fix this JS error? Please guide.

Thank you.

Which ones get the error?  The ones in a different building?

I'm not sure how you could fix this.  As I see it the problem is from a JS library loaded from a Microsoft server somewhere on the internet.  It's not under your control.

For the people who are having the issue you could try getting them to use a VPN to connect to another location and as a result, load this problematic JS library from somewhere else.  I understand that's not a long term solution, but might work in the interim.

You should contact Microsoft support and ask them to look into this.

Regards

Phil

I just looked over the error message again.  It seems to have something to do with Right to Left languages.  Are the people who get the problem using a RTL language?
