Hi all,
I've recently switched up my career from a regular Data Analyst to a Business Intelligence Analyst at a new company. The role is also new to the company and so nobody has even heard of Power Query, Power Pivot or Power BI but it will be heavily based around data analysis, forecasting costs and modelling/presenting data etc...
I believe PQ/PP or Power BI would be useful for the role, but I have never properly used either. The company has offered some financial support towards training and I'm wondering whether it would be better to get some proper Power Query/Power Pivot training before even considering proposing Power BI as I'm not sure yet how much I'll be using the software just yet.
If the PQ/PP is the best first step, could anybody recommend some good training courses? I have found one that looks interesting on udemy.com that is only £27 for the next couple days

Hi Zeref,
Welcome to our forum!
Power Query and Power Pivot skills will definitely be well worth learning as a BI Analyst. These tools are integrated into both Excel and Power BI, so if you do end up going down the Power BI route, you'll be up and running quickly.
I can't speak to the course you've found, but I have a Power Query and Power Pivot course. If you purchase them at the same time there's a 20% discount.
I don't compete with Udemy on price, as I personally support my students as they work their way through the courses and when it comes time to implementing the techniques into their own work, which is usually when they get stuck 😉
