I have spent 3 weeks looking for an answer and a hour with microsoft support to no avail. I got a work book from someone and two of the sheets pull data from a website on the internet. When I hit refresh data button i get an error, "
Unable to open basketball-reference.com/leagues/nba_2024_per_game.html. Cannot download the information you requested.
When I take this work book to work and put it on my computer at work the data will refresh with no error. The work book must be ok since it only gives me the error on my home computer. I am running office 2021 64 bit on a Windows 10 home edition. Has anyone else had a problem where you get an error from one computer but not another computer. No one can give me an answer. I reloaded office 2021 and same error.
Hi James,
I'm not sure how the data refreshes as that page doesn't exist.
Please supply your file, it's impossible to check anything otherwise.
Regards
Phil
All I know is that it does update with no error at work but not at home. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
James,
I downloaded your file and refreshed both connections without issue. I am running Win11 and Office 365 Insider. Sorry, I cannot offer any further help on this.
Alan
I can also refresh it on:
M365 on Win10Enterprise
M365 on macOS Sonoma
Office 2019 on Win11 (ARM version in a VM)
Perhaps it's a firewall issue at home?
i can add a sheet to this workbook and add my own power query to it. when i hit refresh it will update my sheet but give me errors on other sheets so i do not think it is firewall problem.
Is it also a web query?
