when linking a sharepoint/onedrive business file through my excel file I dont have the Sharepoint folder option as i have 365 business standard, is there a way of linking a file without having this feature?

Not that I'm aware of Alan. Even if you were to use a PC that has the correct license and connector, I think the query would fail to refresh on your PC.
