Hello,

I have some Excel documents in a SharePoint document library which I would like to connect to and work with, but I can't find any such connection option when creating a new Query. The closest one I find, which lets me connect to the SharePoint site, is New Query --> Other sources --> From SharePoint List, but from there I don't see any documents.

The work around is that I am synchronizing the library to a folder on my computer, so I can connect to the files, but this is not what is wanted as other persons are supposed to be able to open the file with the queries and update the data, which is not possible as they don't have permission nor access to the files on my computer.

Any one who knows if there is a solution? Power BI seems to have such option as there is an option where you can load files from a SharePoint folder, which I must assume is the same as a document library. But as I don't have correct Microsoft account for Power BI Services this is really not a solution either.

Any suggestions is most welcome.

Br,
Anders

Hi Anders,

I think the SharePoint connector you're referring to is the correct one to use.

When connecting to a SharePoint list, enter the site URL instead of the list URL. In the Access SharePoint dialog box, select the most general URL to authenticate against the site correctly. By default, the most general URL is selected.

There are step by step instructions here.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Mynda
