I am having an odd issue with Power Query connecting to a CSV file on my PC. Power Query seems to act like it would if I had created a new query and was linking it to my workbook for the first time even though I am using an existing query and connection. The problem happens after the query is edited and Query Editor closed, after a few seconds a new worksheet is created and a message displays "Please wait until Microsoft Excel has finished refreshing the PivotTable report, and then try the command again.". When I click OK on the message, I am left with a new blank worksheet and the query status shows "Download failed". From here I can delete the new sheet, refresh the query and it refreshes normally.

I have several other workbooks and queries I use frequently that do not exhibit this behavior.

Any suggestions on why Power Query/Excel would create a new worksheet and producing the error massage after edits are made to my query?

Hello,

If you double click the query after getting the error you should get more details of what is generating the error.
