Hi,
I have a query that combines files from a folder. There are around 800k records in the combined files. I am trying to edit the steps in the query but every time I select a different step the editor starts to read the data source to update the preview. It takes an age to get anything done. Is there any way I can stop it doing the refresh once it has initially retrieved the data?

Hi Bax,
Turn off background refresh in the Power Query editor settings.
