I have a report that has date format which I constantly have to use Data/Text to Column to change it . The issue has nothing to do with Locale - more to do with the format of the file. You wrote an article about it
Can M language used to resolve this so that it is automated within power query ? Or is there a way to automate this ?

Hi Christine,
Yes, Power Query can fix these dates. It looks like this might have been a text or CSV file that you've opened in Excel? I say this because some of the dates are proper date serial numbers and some are text (those dated 13th and above). This is a locale issue.
If so, instead of opening the file, use Power Query to get the file and bring it into Excel. That way you can fix the date before loading.
