Hi Mynda,
I am in the process of creating a HR Dashboard using your video as a guide. I am trying to add in a measure that will count new starters for each month using the commencement date.
I am using office365 and have attached a screen shot of my pivot table.

Welcome to our forum.
I can't tell much from the screenshot, but it looks like the PivotTable may be already returning the results you're after. If it's not what you would expect, then please attached your file, or a small sample file that illustrates the issue. Also give an example of your expected results that ties back to your example data.
