hello,

can anyone please shed any light on why my grouping in pivot table doesn't have unique range?

I am hoping to get 10-59, 60-99, etc...

many thanks,

Years ReceiptAmount
2019 10-60
  60-110
  110-160
  160-210
  210-260
  260-310

Hi Tina

In a PT, the grouping bucket must be the same size.

The bucket you wanted for 10-59 is 50 while 60-99 is 40, so it will not work in a PT.

Hope this explanation is clear enough.

Hi Tina

10-60 and 61-111 is a bucket of 51, not 50

60-10+1=51

111-61+1=51

I suggest you post a file with sample data and your expected result.

It will be easier for us to understand what you need.

hello Sunny,

thanks so much for the reply!

I attached a sample file and pivot table, the grouping is not what I need,

10-60
60-110
110-160
160-210

appreciated with your input!

Tina

Hi Tina

It looks like the values with decimal place (34.5, 1999.95 etc) is the cause of your problem.

Try rounding them to the nearest whole number. It will give you the result you are looking for.

Hope this helps.
