Hi,

I'm trying to update my excel skills as I'm relying on skills I learnt a decade ago. I've picked up the odd new thing along the way (X versions of classic formulas etc), but figured I should go for a complete refresh including non-formula related aspects (Power Query, Data Analysis etc).

I see there are lots of courses, but it many appear to overlap, i.e.
https://www.myonlinetraininghub.com/excel-expert-upgrade
https://www.myonlinetraininghub.com/advanced-excel-formulas-course
or
https://www.myonlinetraininghub.com/financial-modelling-course
https://www.myonlinetraininghub.com/excel-for-finance-course
https://www.myonlinetraininghub.com/excel-data-analyst

Similarly the overlap in content must be high. For instance, pivots, excel tables and dynamic arrays must be covered in the excel-expert-upgrade course, but presumably also in the finance, financial modelling and data analyst courses?

How can I work out where the bang for buck lies in terms of a couple of courses that dive deep into newer excel aspects, without paying for a lot of overlap?

Thanks!

Nevermind, answered this sufficently for my purposes:
* To find subset courses, search for the following to find the superset course: 'extract of our'
* Scroll down and find the 'view the syllabus' button (can't search for it, at least in my browser).
* 'Fast track' is a collection of courses, and details the included courses (then use the above two in relation to a given course)

Hi @kris78

I know you said you've found the info you needed but I'll elaborate for anyone else reading this.

If you just want the best Excel skills take Excel Expert.

The Expert course includes

  • Excel Tables
  • PivotTables (Quick Start)
  • Advanced Excel Formulas
  • + Loads more

You can take those 3 courses separately if you like and don't want to go wild with the whole Expert course.

You can also take any/all of those 3 smaller courses and update to Expert later, paying the difference to upgrade.

Financial Modelling teaches you to build a financial model and how to understand things like

  • Income statement
  • Balance sheet
  • Cash flow statement

Excel for Finance focuses more on analysis and looks at things like

  • Time value of money
  • What-if analysis
  • Amortization
  • Depreciation

Excel Data Analyst is a pathway we've created to guide people towards the courses they need to take to become either an

  • Excel Data Analyst
  • Excel Reporting Analyst
  • Excel + BI Reporting Analyst

The courses included in each of those 3 paths differs depending on the desired role.

Regards

Phil
