Hi,

I am struggling to pull Unit values from one table into another.

COSTOS table has details of unit costs by year, enterprise and item - (highlighted in magenta)

I am trying to pull the unit costs into COSTOS_DATA table having matched the enterprise, item and year (highlighted in yellow)

I know this will seem obvious to some but having only used excel in all the ways mynda says one shouldn't, I just dont find this intuitive.

Once again, any help would be greatly appreciated

Best regards

Nick

The COSTOS table is in the wrong format you should get it into a the shape as shown in the attached file. But then, the DATA table has Year and Month in it for three rows all Social farm & Staff. What is it that you would like to pick-up in the yellow cells?

Hi Riny

Thanks so much for your reply and putting the COSTOS table into the correct format - it is so obvious now I look at it.

Apologies for my slow response - I have been away from my desk since I posted yesterday.

I am trying to pull the relevant 'unit' data into the COSTOS_DATA table depending on the year, enterprise and item, then I can take quantities from another table and come up with an amount.

I hope that makes sense

Best regards and thanks again

Nick

I've used SUMIFS. See attached. Would that solve it?

RIny,

Many thanks again - you are saving my bacon ( pun intended as I am setting up a social farming charity and thats what these spreadsheets are for)

I also offer my apologies for asking what must seem stupid questions.

Best regards

@Nick: there are no stupid questions. You learn by asking and you learn too by answering
