I'm trying to work out total weekly hours and minutes in excel but when i add the numbers up they come to something like 8 hours 85 mins . why is this?? is there a way to add a formula to get the correct calculation to convert from decimal
For example . 9.38 + 8.06 + 7.45 + 8.00 = 32.89 ??
Thanks for any help

Hi Paul,
in Excel, 1 day=1 unit, half day =0.5 units.
1 hour=1/24=0.041666667
=32.89/24 will give you 1.3704 days.
If you format the cell with this formula: =32.89/24 with a custom format ([h]:mm:ss), you will see the value in a time format: 32:53:24
The number in cell will still be 1.3704, even if you see it formatted as 32:53:24, so you have to keep this in mind if you need to make other calculations.
