I've developed a way to create dynamic/cascading DLs right in the table you are populating without managing a separate set of DL source tables.
It relies on dynamic arrays, named ranges, and DLs that all play nicely in the core data table.
Sample file attached with food groups and items included for demo.
The Category DL is populated by the Unique list of all Category items currently in the table.
The SubCategory DL is populated similarly, but filtered by the Category entry on the row you are working on.
Lot's of potential uses. I use it in my daily budget/spending tracker to help me maintain consistency, particularly with the SubCategory entries.
Since I couldn't find a similar solution, I thought I'd share, and solicit your feedback.
Thanks!
Jerry
