Hello All,

I am trying to mimic project dependency from ms project but in excel as I don't like using ms project and not every one in my organization has ms project.

Please see attached. I have a Dependency ID column where I would like to enter the task id that a particular task is dependent on so my start dates get updated accordingly. The problem is when I insert a new row into the table. The existing dependency ID doesn't get updated so the task doesn't refer to the correct task.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Michele

Hello,

One way to solve this is if you reference the task name instead of the id number, as the task name remains the same.
To avoid typing the task names more than once you can add and pick the names from a drop down list.

Should work fine as long the name is unique within its project.

Br,
Anders
