Hi, I am needing help setting up my data for (Q over Q). I have attempted to set up a line graph and all my data labels are cluttered on the chart and it looks real sloppy. I need assistance to transpose this data to be a good visual and look cleaner. I don't know if the line graph is the best chart for this data. Any help is needed.
May I ask what you would consider a "good visual"? It seems you are looking at market information by state over time. Adding all of these in one graph indeed causes clutter. The attached file contains an example of a pivot table and a pivot (column) chart with a few slicers.
Not sure, though, what message you want to convey.
Hi Riny,
This is great. May I ask how did you get all that data organized in columns such as date, state etc, This will help when I do add more data to
to this. I think the bar chart is the best option in this situation.
Hi Chelle,
I overlooked your first question regarding how to reorganise the data and took your last sentence as a confirmation that all was clear. Sorry!
In this particular example I created the table in columns J:L manually by cut and paste. In a real life scenario I would use Power Query to unpivot the data from columns A:F. But that's perhaps not needed if you control the data and how it is collected to begin with. So, if you could skip the format as in columns A:F and directly collect the data in a flat/tabular format (J:L) you can create the pivot table/chart directly from the data.
