Hi,
Can anyone tell me if the following functionality is possible, please?
I have four columns: 'Retail Inc VAT' 'Retail Exc VAT' 'Margin' 'Cost'
e.g.
Line 1 = 'Retail Inc VAT' & 'Margin' are known and entered - 'Retail Exc VAT' & 'Cost' are auto populated
Line 2 = 'Cost' & 'Margin' are known and entered - 'Retail Exc VAT' & 'Retail Inc VAT' are auto populated
Line 3 = 'Cost' & 'Retail Exc VAT' are known and entered - 'Retail Inc VAT' & 'Margin' are auto populated
etc etc
Does that make sense and is it possible using one formula?
Usage is on a pricing document I am making - This particular formula will be on the 'ProductDB' sheet and will include lots of other data about the item.
Our pricing comes from multiple sources, and in various forms, so it would help streamline updates if we could just enter what we know; instead of having to run through a calculator, or side formula first.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi Both,
Thanks for the replies - Ive attached a small sample of the ProductDB sheet which contains the relevant cells (Ive randomised the values to protect commercial data etc) There are a few things I’d like to get this sheet doing, but for the moment the priority is streamlining data entry for columns F to I.
The only formula currently in those columns is in Margin =(Retail_Exc - Cost) / Retail_Exc (It also has some conditional Formatting to provide a quick visual reference for products/margin we need to reconsider.
As mentioned in the post above, our suppliers (manufacturers & distributors) send pricing data in, at least, three different formats.
Retail price inc. VAT
Retail price excl. VAT
Cost price excl. VAT
I’d like to be able to enter data in any two of the four cells/columns and have it calculate the missing data for the remaining two
e.g. 1 - Line item 6
NAD send us the Retail_Inc (F6) and Cost (I6) figures
Someone enters those on the sheet and a formula calculates, and enters, data for cells G6 (Retail_Exc) and H6 (Margin)
e.g. 2 - Line item 10
Audioquest send us the Retail_Exc (G10) and Cost (I10) figures
Someone enters those on the sheet and a formula calculates, and enters, data for cells F10 (Retail_Inc) and H10 (Margin)
e.g. 3 - Line item 29
CCTV Company send us the Retail_Exc (G29) and margin/discount (H29) figures
Someone enters those on the sheet and a formula calculates, and enters, data for cells F29 (Retail_Inc) and I29 (Cost)
Of the four columns, Retail_Inc is only used for data entry (we don’t ever send a quote/proposal using inc. VAT pricing) so we could, if it helps, eliminate that from any reverse calculations etc.
