Hi all

I created a pivot table with two columns - 1. sales value - monthwise and 2. running total (from same sales value using "show value as" function in pivot table option)

My problem is I am not able to use this running total column in pivot table in calculated field.  This running total column is not showing as field in the calculated field dialogue box.

Is there a way to solve this?  Pls help.

Hi Thulasi,

Please upload your file or at least a sample file that illustrates what you mean. It's impossible to say without seeing your data as I don't understand what you mean by "sales value - monthwise and 2. running total (from same sales value...."

Thanks,

Mynda

Hi Thulasi,

You need to add a calculated field that takes the balance minus the debit column first, then set this column to calculate as the running total. See file attached.

Hi Mynda,

Thank you very much for the solution.  I didn't think that I could be able to set the calculated field as running total!!!

That's the difference between an expert like you and a novice like me.  Heartfelt thanks to you.

Rgds
