Attached is a file of grades for each lecturer / activity.
When I want to do average - the simple formula of the Excel brings me to the average that is not true.
And in the average manual calculation I wrote here.
If I have a lecturer X
5 who gave a grade 1
4 who gave a grade 2
They gave a grade of 3
5 who gave a grade of 4
9 who gave a grade of 5
Total gave a score: 38
I need the average given to the teacher X = the formula brings a number that is higher than 5.
When the average should be a number up to 5 ...
Hello and happy new year!
In order to get such rating average you need to calculate like this:
1. Multiply each response total with its rating value (grade).
2. Add the sum of each grade.
3. Divide with the total number of responses.
Based on your data in average.xlsx, the formula in cell G2 would be =((B2*1)+(C2*2)+(D2*3)+(E2*4)+(F2*5))/H2, the result is 4.02.
