Hi there,
I have been struggling with this one for hours, and have watched many more hours of Myndy's (and others') videos trying to find a solution. Things aeren't helped by the fact that I am working in two languages, one of which I am far from fluent in.
What I am trying to create is a table that:
- Increments the invoice number and locks it to an entry regardless of sorting/filtering.
- Allows me to select an address from a drop down list (that can be updated).
- Works out the tax from the invoice amount.
- Allows a binary yes or no for if the invoice is paid.
- Totals up the Paid and Unpaid amounts.
No matter what, the Return key doesn't expand the table (the requisite proofing tool setting is checked). The Tab key does however, expand the tabel down.
I have tried =sequence and =row methods for incrementing numbers, but they never seem to give consistent results.
The address dropdown list only likes to be updated from the top. If I add a new address to the bottom, it doesn't appear in the drop downs.
I have attached the test file with a few sheets in there (just incase the main sheet was ruined for some reason. The main sheet is called "Reiwa". I am using the "Options" sheet for the drop down menu information. There are plans to link this sheet to others that hold the actual invoices for each property, but that also involved energy meter readings for some addresses but not others, so well beyond my abilities at the moment.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
All the best.
Dan
Interestingly enough, 5 minutes after posting this, I found Mynda' " build a self updating Excel invoice and tracker video.
Once I get back to my desk (have been dragged out shopping 😫 ) I'm going to see what I can gleen from it and see what I can achieve.
Would still appreciate anybody's thoughts though.
Cheers
Dan
