I have seen 2 options, one being to manually enter a hard return, and one to use the CHAR(10) formula.
Entering a manual hard return in a lot of labels is a pain, and then the labels are all centre aligned which looks messy with different lengths and when some labels are short, so right aligned. The CHAR(10) option is ok with same length fields such as dates, but is there another option when working with different length labels.
Our organisation style guide insists on font size 12, chart width 17.6cm.
I've attached a screen shot of a sample chart (there are 22 rows in total) with the data. Personally I prefer the un-wrapped option but my boss isn't happy about the space it takes up and wants the labels wrapped. Difficult enough with varying lengths, but I have a lot of charts in a number of reports so need to find a solution he's happy with that doesn't take me days to hand edit each label.
Any options welcome 🙂
Thanks, Deirdre

Hi Deirdre,
If you make the chart small enough, the labels will automatically wrap., but they are also centered and there's nothing you can do about it.
Perhaps a table with conditional formatting data bars would give you more control of the label alignment.
Hope that points you in the right direction.
