I wish to create a chart to record the temperature and humidity within the brood chamber of my beehive. However the data ranges are different with temps ranging from 0 to 105 degrees and the humidity ranges from 50 to 100 percent. Are the potential values too different to plot on the same chart?

You could, for instance, create a line chart plotting, let's say, temperature on the primary vertical axis and humidity on the secondary vertical axis. The data/time element would be on the horizontal axis. If you upload some data we can show you how and perhaps suggest other charts as well.

Thank you Riny. Late this afternoon, i came across the concept of target and actual charts, and was wondering if that could be what I am also chasing. So rather than pursue just multi data charting, could you suggest a method of creating a target band of 34°C to 37°C and then plot my brood chamber data against that. I'm trying to work out how hard my bees are working to keep the temperature and humidity within a specific range for various types of hives. Not sure if this is allowed or not but if one wanted to see exactly what I'm looking for broodmaster dot com will give you an example. Theirs is far more intensive (hourly) than my goal of daily results.

Okay I've come up with this solution after some gentle persuasion from Mynda. In the workbook attached I can now chart temps and humidity with a preferred target band installed on the chart. Stacked column chart for the target brand and converted the other plotted data to lines. I would like to know how to rename the series rather than just series 1, series 2 etc. Why did the second chart skip the series bit altogether?
I might have a crack at this on a MS laptop to see if its an Apple or User issue. In the mean time, many thanks to Mynda for her patience in indicating how it should be done.

Great to see you worked out a solution. Now with respect to naming the series and why the legend isn't there on the second chart, that's easily resolved and not a Mac or user issue.
To add the legend to the 2nd chart, select the chart and then on the 'Chart design' ribbon click 'Add chart element' on the far left. Then 'Legend' and 'Bottom'. That's that.
Naming the series is done by selecting a chart and then 'Select Date', also in the 'Chart design' ribbon. Select a series in the box with the current series names and then click inside the Name box on the right and point to a the relevant header in the data table to name the series. Skip Series 1 as this is the 'invisible' bottom part of the stacked column.
The last thing you should do is remove the "Series 1" label from the legend. Select the Legend and then click on the text 'Series 1' inside the legend. Then back-space.
If all goes well, you should end up with charts like in the attached file.
