I played with the different formats of chart types to provide a quick overview of server states per application module.
I wasn't really happy with either of the options available as the usability of each option wasn't where I wanted it to be. The best option in my mind was to provide a simple matrix App_Module versus Server state.
When applying the following 'trick' I achieved the view I was looking for
- Chart Type = Clustered Bar
- Format each of the Data Series as follows
- Fill = "No Fill"
- Border = "No Line"
- Shadow = "No Shadow"
Files with initial and improved view are attached.

Hi Erwin,
The trouble with stacked column/bar charts is only the first item in the stack is comparable across, in your case, the apps. Another option is to use small multiple charts, sometimes called panel charts.

While the panel charts gave me some useful ideas for a different context, I don't think they are useful to provide a quick overview of server states per application.
The number of applications will most likely grow but there will always be only 5 different states of a server.
In this case I think I will stick with the option of my table chart
