Hello!

Thank you for your great work!

I am relatively new to excel, and unexperienced with pivot tables (that is changing rapidly, thanks to your lessons).

I am trying to build a pivot table showing the hours used weekly on each project. Each project can have two project managers.

I cannot figure out how to filter or slice our project list without having the project manager 2 being a sub-category of project manager 1Capture-d’écran-2021-09-05-103518.png

is there a way to display the projects with all projects managers in one single slicer list?

Best regards,

Geneviève

Hi Genevieve,

Glad you're enjoying the course and learning lots.

You need to put the project manager names in one column and have a separate column that tags them as to whether they're project manager 1 or 2.

Hello! thank you for your very fast reply!

I get the logic - but that would mean doubling the lines for project 209 for example - and would impact the remaining hours (blue column, week 26). The data there is taken directly from our timesheeting program - I'm afraid I will make mistakes there (it is done manually every week).

I guess I need to convince my boss it is easier to chose one project manager!

It's either that or insert two slicers, one for each Project Manager level. When a selection is made in the first Slicer it will filter the second to only show possible matches.
