Beginner help- help transfering data from one workbook to another |VBA & Macros|Excel Forum|My Online Training Hub

I am new to learning Excel. I have a project I am working on that involves linking live data from one excel workbook to another which I understand how to do but I only need certain information to transfer and I need that certain information to link up to the right person listed in the 2nd workbook as well as the correct date.
so to be more in depth the 2nd workbook is used for tracking. the first column lists names and then there is a column for each day of the month. in my 1st workbook I have created it to have buttons that when ran with gather live information from an email folder. So when ran it comes up with who sent it and what there answer is. So I need the answer from that specific person to go to the tracking sheet and be put in the correct dates column. I'm not sure if this can be done but it seems like anything can be done in excel. so if someone could help and explain I would appreciate it.
