Is there an easy work around to be able to work in one session of excel whilst having another with Query Editor open in another?

For example I want to view the syntax of one query in workbook A compared to workbook B. When I have Query editor open it won't allow me to do anything in Excel (including a second session) until I close the Query editor.

This is proving a bit frustrating having to screen shot or copy and paste into notepad to then close Query Editor and switch to the other session

any suggestions welcome

thanks

Hi Chris,

Welcome to our forum!

Unfortunately, the Power Query window locks Excel, so there's no way to get around it. If you have two screens, I have my two workbooks open at the sheet I want to see, while I open the query editor in the other.

Otherwise, your solution to copy and paste into Notepad is another option.
